2010-02-05Twenty years have passed since the law on territorial self-government was passed and implemented in 1990. Two decades of system transformation have brought about profound changes in all spheres of life. Decentralisation of public power through re-creation of local governments followed by regional self-governments played the major role in the process. The 20-th Anniversary is an excellent opportunity to reflect and analyse experiences gained during recreation and shaping the present model of self-government in Poland, an opportunity to meet in Poznan where the self-government recreation process originated.
Union of Rural Communes of the Republic of Poland, along with all Polish nation-wide self-government organisations, participating in the Joint Committee of Central Government and Territorial Self-Governments, is honoured to launch celebrations commemorating this special event.
